The Irony of Human Judgement

The irony is in spite of the unprecedented notion of human having the most advanced intellectual capability; they are actually illogical, at least in many instances. Their logic and judgement, in some cases, become so biased that it becomes really tough to distinguish between logical conclusions and hidden desires. It’s true that judgement varies individual to individual. But the difference can’t be as unfathomable as it appears in most cases.

Human mind has this uncanny ability to tinker their thoughts, emotions and feelings the way they want. Nevertheless they think the opposite. We say, “I can’t control my emotions” or “I can’t help doing that” but at the end, you can’t because you think you can’t.

The line between right and wrong, just and unjust, true and false is clear to an unbiased mind, but not to a biased one. Unfortunately the latter predominates in the population. The consequence is those who are doing the right are accused of doing the wrong by their peers. Does it matter anyway? Well, some doesn’t bother; some get upset for the time being; but unfortunately there are others who opt to take the path of those peers?

Who is responsible for driving these people to the wrong? Peers or they Themselves!!!

Emotion Vs Logic Vs Life

It’s been a while since I wrote something last time… well there has been a whole bunch of academic writings, but my thoughts and feelings… yeah, I do still continue to draw them, like a subconscious spider building his web… lying in the bed, building metaphors of thoughts… unfortunately serene sleep embraces me long before the building is completed… eventually lost in the eternity of space-time. Lots of philosophical trembling I guess.

Lately I have been wondering about the role and importance of emotion in life. And my conclusion is emotion is something which will definitely derail you from your goals, making the life more miserable than enjoyable in the long run.

Emotion has no universal definition… it is the integration of a bunch of feelings. One interesting aspect of feelings is you can feel whatever you want to feel, you can amplify whatever you want to amplify. It’s like picking up some small thing in your life and then make it (or feel it) million times more intense. At the end of the day you realize, those were all Bullshits!!! (Pardon me for my language.)

Once you start to give importance to emotion, it keeps on creeping your mind, masking your judgment and thoughts. Preference, importance, priority… everything in your life starts to change. Ask the reason; neither you nor anyone else would be able to answer.

Emotion is only acceptable when it supports logical reasoning.

Hope, reality and mind…

Hopes, no matter how unlikely they appear, they are always there in our subconsciously semiconscious mind. There are some facts which we know for sure, still we hope or our desperate mind finds silent pleasure in thinking or deluding the opposite.

Sometimes I wonder about the benefits of this psychology! What is the point in believing or at least deceiving into something which isn’t true or which is never going to happen? Do we get inspirations from our never going to be true dreams? Or is it just our mind refusing to accept the already proven reality? Or is it just a phase of mind? Or is it a phase in the metamorphosis of philosophy of life? Or is it the emotion of being with the past which is already an entry of archive?

The Last of Rituals

In spite of being the organism having the most advanced logical and reasoning capabilities, most of the Homo sapiens tend to accept most things in life without questioning logical background.

Rituals… we’ve a whole lot of them in our life. And interestingly we don’t even know how and when they developed in our subconscious mind or life… we don’t bother to question their presence.

How do they start? Mostly as exceptions, like any other regulars in our life, they become part of our life. Like addictions they eclipse our thoughts. Reasoning is obscured in the shadow of strong emotion.

How do they end? Mostly as realizations, like any other fading events in our life, they become part of the history of our life. Like retained snapshots they visit our mind sometimes. The shadow is obliterated in the glimpse of light.

Innocence and Simplicity… worth any price

Life is a journey of gaining experiences. Our day to day interactions, communications and relations with others teach us lessons, newer ones. We learn day by day… Life is not that much simple after all.

As a kid, I was always with Me, Myself and Mahdi. My life was simple, yeah, damn simple. I had my passions, fascinations and enthusiasms… still I do have them. But things change around, no matter how much you want to prevent them… or maybe you want to avoid.

After all what I’ve gathered, I can strongly say, “I’m lot more mature than the “Me” couple of years back.” I’m not that “Me” who was simple, innocent…

If someone asked me, “If you had single chance to go back to any point of your life, which point would it be?” My answer will definitely be, “Any moment three years back.” May be I’ll be tricked again, maybe people around will use my simplicity… but for that simplicity and innocence, I can pay any price… it’s worth…

When we are in our good times, we all assume it will last forever. The words “good times” simply doesn’t refer to moments or conditions. It may be applicable to wide ranges of phenomenon… from relationship between people to the events we have cherished. Then again the picture I wanted to draw thus far is in no way the total picture could be drawn or envisaged.

Our life is undeniably complex with plethora of both defined and undefined interactions. Some of these are willingly developed, while others are a manifestation of luck. Sometimes we’re privileged for no reason. Sometimes we’re privileged with fortunes which we don’t deserve. Whether there is a reason or not, whether we deserve it or not, we all audaciously enjoy the fruits of being fortunate and expect it to be continued. To add spice to the curry, we shamelessly yet eloquently forget the fact that without proper nourishment our fortune will annihilate in the limitless boundary of space & time. And yes, the realization comes to us when the final stanza is being versed irreversibly. I would like to say in the voice of Mos Def (Six Days of Remix, Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift Soundtrack), “Tomorrow never comes until it’s too late… ”

Our life and interactions are not merely random events, they have purposes. Whether we rip the benefit of what we have is a matter of making the (theoretically) correct choices at the correct moments and in the correct time frame. There is no point in blaming destiny for losing something valuable but unattended or un-nurtured or unappreciated…. even underappreciated. Gifts are taken away from the undeserved… for some the event is scheduled earlier, while for others it’s momentarily late. And those who are smart learn from the mistakes by the individuals around and their consequences.

Destiny is what you build, Luck is what you achieve and Life is the integration of our actions and their consequences.

An inexpensible lesson

10-02-2008

When I was a kid I’ve always hated interacting with people around, unless I knew them very well. My sphere was very limited… from house to school… from school to house. Relatives… very few of them used to keep contact with us… for some weird reason or other they used to avoid us in the moments of our immense hardship. We experienced the true face of the people to their backbone.

I’m an introvert, I prefer being with myself and people whom I know well. Even then I prefer being with someone, rather than being in a group. But for that you need someone. (I think introvert people are familiar with this situation.) And I guess that’s why I’m very close to my close friends.

Couple of years back. One of my classmates needed some psychological support. She needed someone to talk to… we became close to each other. Shared many of our feelings. Both of us didn’t enjoy being in group. Gradually we became pretty close friends… and she is the only person who told me, “You are my best friend and I’m ready to sacrifice anything for you.” And roughly a year back from today, she did what she thought she had to do for me…

It was a tough time for me then for many reasons. Then one day she called me. We had a serious fight. Stopped talking with each other, may be for a month… or more. I lost one of the three stars I had in my life… and life moved on… with two bleeding hearts… Misunderstandings… they can kill any relationship, yet they are part of all of them.

Sometimes life teaches us weird yet inexpensible lessons. They teach us how to cope up with immense difficulties, unexpected situations and harsh conditions… it teaches us to withstand any pressure… it teaches us not to give up the hope… the hope of a better future, even when you think your life is ruined as hell from where you can never revert back…

After a year, we are great friends. Yeah, we have fights. Sometimes she says something and I get upset. Sometimes I let her know, most of the times I prefer to ignore or keep things unnoticed… and may be the same is true from the other side as well…

There are bumps in any relationship… friends are more important than some stupid fights… it’s worth ignoring them for so many great moments you’ve had and will have…

Urban Vs Rural People

01-02-2008
1843 BST

Internet connection has been bit shaky lately. Don’t know how long it will take to get things normal again.

I was reading the board book of English 2nd paper (SSC) a while ago. I found a conversation out there quite interesting and well above the standard. The topic was comparison between city and rural lives. Two kids (that’s what they wrote in the introduction) were arguing which one was the better. The supporter of urban life was referring to modern amenities available in the cities, dynamic life compared to sluggish rural one… and so so. (Nothing that much new) The other lad, who favoured rural life, thought village life is lot better since you can see the lovely sunshine, feel the simplistic and easy village life with sympathetic and simple village peoples. Well, the last point was quite noteworthy. I wonder how much is this true?

As far as urban life goes, I can say it’s kind of mechanistic and people generally look after their own fortunes. But personally I think village life is not simple either; at least not as simple as depicted in the conversation. We all know about the dirty village politics (Hail Politicians!!! They are omnipotent.)

But one thing I guess I can say confidently, the general people are lot simpler than city dwellers…

The flow of the fourth dimension…

The flow of the fourth dimension...

Simulations… complex ones which interact with each other.

Simulation is like scientific research. I would like to explain using an analogy from my field of expertise. When biologists have new ideas about some drug or physiological processes they try them out in different lower organisms, starting from bacteria to yeast, mouse and even monkeys. It is quite usual to find unexpected results. There goes the difference between theory and practice. You’ve to modify your theories. And sometimes you see something which you’ve never thought before.

We all have our own way of looking into life. We have our perspectives, inspirations and dreams and we plan in our own way to achieve them. There are times when alternate options pop up in our way… we choose one or the other or one of the many others. We do calculations, predict outcomes and at the end we decide for one after detailed cost-benefit analysis. But are these analyses unbiased and give the best result? Well, maybe not. It depends lot on who we are, how we’re nurtured, what are our priorities at the moment of consideration and importantly what we want and what is the price we’re ready to sacrifice. What is right now might turn out to be a wrong decision in the long run. Or maybe the result of your simulation is wrong. Even sometimes you realize the side-effects of your choice, which you ignored or didn’t think of, are actually ruining your life. You realize there were lots of loopholes in your previous assumptions which led to erroneous simulation results. By the time you realize it’s already too late. Unlike science you can’t go back to modify your assumptions or change the choices you’ve made. Some prefer to say it Destiny. I would say, “It’s the reflection of the choices you’ve made.”

But things are quite different if you can have real life simulations. And I guess this is the advantage of knowing people from close. You don’t have to do all the experiments with your own life. You see both the positives and negatives from others’ life. And most importantly you realize stuffs which you would have never thought while compiling your own simulation.

Sometimes you get allured into the apparent excitement, joy and happiness. But sooner you realize it’s not the life which you would choose knowingly for yourself… and sometimes you are grateful for the past you’ve left behind.

Not all are prudent to look that far. Very few of those who have the ability are willing to take the endeavour. Again very few of them are ready to accept the truth. To which group do I belong?

A question to be answered by the flow of the fourth dimension…

My Days Without 360

It’s been quite some time since I visited 360 for the last time. Today a friend commented on my page and I came up to see.

Days are very busy lately. Waking up at 9 , then going to the lab, doing project research till 5, sleep, watching movie… that’s how my days are spent, barely keeping neither any time to go through fabulous blogs posted here nor to write down something. Actually right now I don’t know what I’m writing or what I’m going to write. All I know is I’ve to post something for those who keep visiting my page, at least according to the counter, and see nothing new.

It’s not that I’ve nothing to write in my mind. Its just the time and mind doesn’t match. When I’ve something to write, I’m busy with something else… when I’ve the time, like now, I guess I write garbage.

Anyway, I’ll be here again in a while, I hope to be.
